In a montage sequence, the shots are arranged so that they follow each other in rapid succession, telescoping an event or several events of some duration into a couple
of seconds of screen time. Montage describes a film that is seen as being constructed rather than edited, it is a process in which a number of shots are woven together to communicate a great deal of information in a short time.
The original storyboard conveys a story based on the word Liminality I was making another project based on as well. A liminal state is a transitional one, being the crossing of one thing to another thing. Like location, the transition of careers, different positions, the changing of mental state, social life, times of day, and life and death.
I wanted a montage telling the story of a woman going through liminality in her life. College, part-time jobs, people coming and going from your life, moving home locations, these are all liminal things. There were also liminal things happening in the background, like the time of day, and the moth is a symbol of liminality and change.
