Animation Survey 2020
Ball Bounce Animated GIF
A 2D animated ball bounce gif, with a requirement of at least three arcs, and add a surprise at the end. For the survey class, this exercise is often the first lesson taught to any animation student because it helps us understand the principles of animation, like squash and stretch, exaggeration, arcs, and timing.
My ball bounce was a ball being thrown for a dog at a park, the surprise at the end is the dog looping around back to the camera and throwing it at the viewer.

Google Doodle
We were tasked to make a 2D animated Google Doodle. We got to choose the person it was dedicated to, so we had to do a little research on a famous historical figure and celebrate them for their significant accomplishment.
I decided to make my Google Doodle for Emma Lilian Todd (1865-1937), who was the first woman to build and design an airplane.

Character Design and 3D Modeling- Creepy Character
For this module, we deconstructed the behaviors of a chosen animal or insect and a machine or mechanical part and then curated a character based on the merged behaviors.
The Animal I chose is an Axolotl and the mechanical item is a speaker, which resulted in a creature that projected loud vibration or sound. I used the axolotl's strong sense of smell, and regenerative cell qualities to make a mutant creepy creature. I decided to make it a cave-blind creature that relied on smell, touch, and vibration echos to navigate

2D Game (Digital Frame by Frame Animation)
This project was to create a 2D gameplay animation of the creepy creature character. The parameters set for the project were that the gameplay video would have a token gathering mechanic, idle animation, run/walk animation, jump animation, and moving through stationary platforms and vertical moving platforms and end with a win screen. With those being the only set things in mind, it was time to get creative.
My game video was set as a game to an old arcade machine, a simple slightly themed art style for a simple cave exploration platform level, where you collect flies as the creepy creature, and can swim in the water to get a fish for bonus points.
